Altona Tennis Club
Located within the City of Hobsons Bay, Altona Tennis Club is the largest tennis facility within Melbourne’s western region with 11 courts (3 Synthetic Grass Courts & 8 en-tout-cas courts) with lights on all courts. There is a centrally located Clubhouse with change room, kitchen and toilet facilities.
Altona Tennis Club aims to foster the education and development of junior members, provide recreational and competition programs for adults & seniors, improve & maintain facilities and to become a fully self-sufficient sporting club by encouraging growth in all membership categories.
The Altona Tennis Club operates under model rules for an incorporated association and has a committee consisting of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Junior Co-ordinator & Senior Co-ordinator/Maintenance Co-ordinator.

The Club welcomes interest and ideas from community members. The Committee has authority to hire the clubroom facility for complementary community uses. The club plans to introduce tennis related community activities.
The club leases the facilities from Hobsons Bay Council. The Club is located with the Altona Central Sports Precinct. Hobsons Bay City Council has been working with all clubs within this precinct to develop a plan guiding improvements between 2013-2031. With council and State Government assistance, the Club has benefitted from many improvement projects in recent years including lighting of 6 courts, resurfacing of 3 courts and installation of a water tank.
Altona Tennis Club welcomes sponsors to support the club. The club attracts people from all over Melbourne’s western region on a weekly basis and conducts tournaments that draw a wider audience. Sponsorships can be recognised in various ways including signage at the club, on club competition shirts and in various forms of media.
The Altona Tennis Club is affiliated with Tennis Victoria & Tennis Australia. The club participates in three main competitions Vic Pennant, Western Region Tennis Association (WRTA) & Western Suburbs Night Tennis Group (WSNTG).
