With the gradual reduction of restrictions in Victoria (and hopefully a restart of tennis very soon) the Western Region Tennis Association (WRTA) is proposing a shortened Junior season, commencing next year.
The suggested start dates for the season are Saturday 30 January and Sunday 31 January, with a seven week season plus one week of finals for teams finishing 1st and 2nd on the ladder. There will be no play over the Labour Day weekend (6/7 March) with the season finishing on the 27/28 March.
It is important to note that the competition won’t go ahead if restrictions don’t allow – there must be a considerable reduction in restrictions on group gatherings and travel limits, plus a lifting on the ban of competition sport for the WRTA Junior season to be viable.
